Here's a peek at our recent training on Accessibility by Andrew Macpherson. Andrew is a sr web developer at Annertech and Accessibility Maintainer for the Drupal 8 project.
Accessibility is a big deal for us - and it is important that he training we deliver comes from real experts in the field.
We looked at disability in context and the various assistive technologies we need be preparing for. From a practical perspective we also looked through existing sites and code, testing it and highlighting areas for improvement. IN particular we looked at Beyonce's site as she is currently being sued for having an inaccessible site.
For a full overview of what we covered on the day please see the lesson plan on GitHub.
I'm always really interested in talking with people about our curriculum and lessons. If you think there is a subject we should be teaching or have ideas for training or even a particular expertise you would be willing to transfer please get in touch with me via twitter @crispin_read or LinkedIn
