HOT TOPIC - ACCESSIBILITY

While people are obviously free to work on whatever issues suit - we are making web accessibility our hot topic. We have Andrew Macpherson (core maintainer for Drupal8 Accessibility) and Brian Teeman (Co-founder of Joomla) in attendance and a load of accessibility issues ready to be fixed. There will be a wide range of issues to tackle so suitable for all levels (even beginners) and mentors on hand to help you get set up and involved.

Working on an open source project is a great way to progress as a coder - whatever level you are at.

Overview

Every year, in conjunction with the Drupal Global Sprint Weekend, we run code sprints in London and Leeds. We mainly focus on contributions to Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla at these events but if you have another Open Source project to sprint on please let us know.

Our key aim for these events is to get more people contributing to these great Open Source Projects.

On the day

We’ll be set up for 10:30am in the Old White Cloth Gallery 24-26 Aire Street, where there will be some refreshments laid on and pizza at lunch to help keep you sprinting through the day.

Mentors will be on hand on Saturday morning to help new contributors understand how to collaborate with the Drupal and Wordpress communities, and set up all the tools needed to contribute.

Who is it for?

Everyone is welcome; if you’ve built a site in Drupal, Wordpress or Joomla, you can contribute. We will split into groups and work on core issues and documentation too - so if you you can still contribute to the projects even if you are not a developer.

Do remember to bring your laptop though!
